Terms and Conditions
This document outlines all the important information you need to know before booking with me. It protects both you and me, and helps ensure everything runs smoothly.
Booking Process
Your booking is only confirmed once your booking fee is received. By paying the booking fee, you agree to these terms. If there are any concerns or changes before payment, please reach out to me in writing. Orders cancelled after payment are subject to the cancellation terms outlined below.
Consultations & Tastings
Consultations can take place on a one-to-one basis, face to face, via video call, or over the phone.
Tastings are offered through pre-ordered sample boxes, available for collection or postal delivery. Before your consultation, you will have received your taster box and selected your favourite flavours, so we can focus on designing your cake together.
Cake Design & Revisions
Final cake details-including design, size, flavours, and inspiration photos-are agreed upon at the time of booking and developed during consultation. This is usually six to three months to the wedding/ event/ occasion. While I aim to match inspiration as closely as possible, exact replicas and colour matches can't be guaranteed.
Ingredients, Allergens & Food Safety
All cakes are made in an environment that handles gluten, eggs, dairy, nuts, and soya. Allergy friendly options are available on request but cannot be guaranteed free from cross-contamination. It is the client's responsibility to inform guests of allergen risks.
Fresh Flowers & Decorations
Fresh flowers are not included. If you wish to add fresh flowers, please arrange them with your florist. I'm happy to liaise with them directly to ensure the cake is dressed safely( with non toxic flowers) and beautifully.
Collection & Delivery
You can collect your cake free of charge or opt for delivery. Once the cake leaves my hands, I can't be held responsible for any damage. I will take a photo and obtain a signature upon delivery. Please ensure your venue is ready for the cake's arrival.
Storing Your Cake
Cakes should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from heat or sunlight. Do not refrigerate unless advised. Consume on the event day for best quality.
Pricing & Payments
A £100 booking fee is required for weddings, or 50% for other cakes. Final balance is due by the date listed on your invoice. Late payments may incur a £25 fee. Orders placed within 6 weeks must be paid in full at time of booking.
Please note: For wedding cakes, the final payment must be received no later than six weeks before the wedding date. This ensures enough time for final adjustments and scheduling.
Liability & Responsibility
I am not responsible for damage after delivery or collection, or dissatisfaction where the cake matched the agreed design. By confirming your order, you accept responsibility for sharing correct details and ensuring safe handling/storage of the cake.

Use of Cake Images
JulietCakesIt reserves the right to use images of all cakes created-including those made for weddings and private events-on its website, social media, and marketing materials. These photos showcase our work and help future clients see examples of designs. We take care not to include any personal client details in these images. If you have any concerns or specific requests regarding photo usage, please let us know in writing at the time of booking.
Cancellation, Postponement and Alterations
Booking fees are non-refundable.
If you need to cancel, postpone, or amend your order, written notice must be provided to
JulietCakesIt as soon as possible. Refunds are not available for missed collections or last minute changes.
In the event of a cancellation by yourselves, charges are as follows:
• More than ninety days (3 months) prior to the event date: booking fee only.
• Ninety days to one calendar month prior to the event date: booking fee plus half of the remaining balance.
• Less than one calendar month prior to the event date: full balance is payable. All payments previously made are non-refundable.
Postponements.
In the case of a postponement, the same terms apply. Subject to availability, payments may be carried forward once to a new wedding date. Any further postponements will be treated as cancellations.
Alterations
Design changes or amendments may be requested up to ninety (90) days before the event date. After this point, only minor adjustments may be accepted at JulietCakesIt’s discretion, and no reductions in cost will be made even if the revised design is less expensive than the original booking.
Complaints
In the rare event that Julietcakesit needs to cancel your order, any payments made will be refunded. Julietcakesit also reserves the right to suspend or cancel the contract due to unforeseen events such as fire, floods, equipment breakdown, strikes, or material shortages.
If a product is defective, our liability is limited to issuing a refund, a credit note, or providing a replacement-up to the value of the original goods.
Complaints must be made at the time of delivery or collection. If there is an issue with the cake, please point it out immediately so we can try to fix it. We are not responsible for customer mistakes such as spelling errors or incorrect details.
Complaints regarding taste are subjective and not grounds for a refund. Cakes must be stored properly (as instructed) and at least 75% of the uneaten product must be returned within 24 hours if a refund is being requested. We do not issue refunds for change of mind or mishandling once the cake has left our care.
We only correspond with the person who placed the order. Both parties agree not to post negative comments online without giving the other a chance to resolve the issue first.
Cake Stand Hire
A refundable security deposit is required when hiring a cake stand, payable with the final balance. The stand must be returned undamaged within three working days of the wedding. Once returned, your deposit will be refunded.
This agreement, along with your order confirmation, forms the full agreement between Julietcakesit and the client.
By entering into this agreement, both parties confirm they are not relying on any prior statements except stated on invoice and documented here.
Privacy Policy
Julietcakesit is committed to protecting your privacy. We only collect the data needed to fulfil your order and keep in touch with you. We never sell or share your information with third parties unless legally required.
Trusted providers such as our accountant and web host may access limited data under their own privacy policies. We also use third-party payment systems to process payments securely.
All data is stored on password-protected devices with proper security software. We keep data only as long as necessary to meet legal or business needs.
Our website contains links to other sites. Please review their privacy policies, as we are not responsible for external content or practices.
